We are looking for a Keyworker to join our Child Development Services (CDS) team! Ideally, this individual will be a collaborative team player with experience working within a family-centered, child-focused, multi-disciplinary team.

Description of Position:

The Keyworker Program provides support to families of children and youth under the age of 19 years who have a suspected or confirmed diagnosis of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and other Complex Developmental Behaviour Conditions (CDBC). Services are provided in both individual and group settings.

Reporting to: CDS Team Leader

General Responsibilities:

  • Supports families in accessing services, building on their individual strengths, and empowering families to become advocates for their children.
  • Provides strategies and supports that families can implement to support their children and home and in the community.
  • Provides parent support through attendance at school or community meetings, individual appointments in the family home, and group settings.
  • Provides education about FASD and other CDBC conditions to families and the community.
  • Working collaboratively with community partners and service providers.

Program-specific Responsibilities:

  • Provides parent/caregiver support and education to families of children and youth with FASD and other CDBC.
  • Assists families in identifying and supporting the needs of the child and family.
  • Provides group-based services for children, youth, and families on the Keyworker and CYSN caseloads in partnership with the CYSN Coordinator.

Qualifications:

  • An undergraduate degree in health or human services (social work, nursing, psychology, child and youth care) or equivalent education and experience.
  • First Aid and CPR (Training may be accessed through Sources) - mandatory
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention Training (Training may be accessed through Sources)
  • Clear Criminal Record Check - mandatory
