Community Inclusion Indigenous Culture & Support Worker

Schedule: Monday - Friday (9am - 5pm)
Wage: $24.41 - $27.89 per hour

In this role, you will support individuals with diverse abilities—both Indigenous and non-Indigenous—by sharing Indigenous traditions, fostering genuine relationships with Elders, families, and community partners, and leading inclusive cultural learning. This role has a strong focus on connecting people to culture, fostering inclusion, and supporting meaningful activities—cultivating belonging, helping individuals make friends, find activities, and participate fully in community.
The Role
- Support individuals in accessing community opportunities, building friendships, and participating in inclusive activities.
- Collaborate with the Inclusion Team, families, and community partners to respond flexibly to the evolving needs of those supported.
- Encourage and facilitate the involvement of natural supports (family, friends, neighbors) in each person’s life.
- Share and honor Indigenous traditions, ways of knowing, being, and doing, as appropriate and requested.
- Promote cultural awareness and understanding within the team and the wider community.
- Design and lead culturally inclusive activities for people of all abilities.
- Work with CI teammates to provide holistic wellness supports aligned to person‑centred plans (social, recreational, vocational, educational).
What You Bring
- Knowledge of Indigenous culture and practices (lived experience an asset).
- Strong relationship‑building and communication skills; collaborative mindset.
- Ability to support individuals as outlined in person‑centred plans.
- Commitment to inclusion, dignity, respect, and confidentiality.

Requirements
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License, and personal vehicle.
- RCMP Criminal Record Check & MCFD Hub Screening (employer facilitated).
- First Aid with CPR, Food Safe Level 1.
- 3 reference letters (including one from your most recent employer).
- Immunization record or exemption, TB Screen, and Physician’s Declaration.
- Resume; Reference Letters (Three); Physician’s Declaration; TB screen; Immunization Records.
