Are you passionate about geospatial data and making a difference? We’re looking for a flexible, collaborative GIS Specialist to join our dynamic consulting team. You’ll work closely with Indigenous clients participating in regulatory processes, helping to shape meaningful outcomes through impactful mapping and data analysis. As a trusted advisor, you’ll provide comprehensive analysis and strategic guidance that empowers clients to achieve optimal business performance while building a sustainable, competitive advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Design and produce high-quality maps and shapefiles using ArcGIS software to support Indigenous impact assessments, traditional land use studies, and related deliverables through high-quality mapping and data analysis.
  • Build and manage geospatial databases and integrate spatial data from diverse sources.
  • Collaborate on map products and visuals that clearly communicate project insights and tell compelling stories.
  • Understand project needs and recommend effective mapping strategies tailored to each client.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline mapping workflows and boost productivity.
  • Support data collection through interviews, workshops, focus groups, surveys, and research.
  • Present findings in accessible formats and contribute to reports, proposals, and client deliverables.
  • Assist with project coordination and deliver consistent, high-quality service that reflects our commitment to excellence.
  • Have an understanding and respect for Indigenous cultures, traditions, and governance structures.
  • Willingness to travel to rural and remote locations and adapt to varying project demands and logistical challenges.

Skills and Experience

  • A degree in GIS, Geomatics, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Experience that proficiency with ArcGIS is required.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset.
  • Clear and confident communication skills—both written and verbal.
  • A knack for quickly assessing situations and identifying ways to improve them.
  • A genuine passion for working with and supporting Indigenous clients and communities. Experience working with Indigenous communities is an asset.
  • Experience with the regulatory process is an asset.
  • Experience in consulting environment is an asset.
