- $40.00 to $45.00 per hour, to be negotiated based on experience

Job Requirements:

Credentials: Journeyman/woman’s certificate as Heavy-Duty Mechanic/Technician, an asset
Experience Requirement: 6 years of hands-on experience
Security and Safety:

Own Tools and Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Duties:
- Rebuild and overhaul engines, transmissions, final drives and differentials on multiple brands of equipment.
- Conduct hydraulic pump and cylinder rebuilds as needed.
- Restore equipment to like-new condition following wear or major failures.
- Troubleshoot major and minor issues related to heavy equipment/heavy trucks.
- Diagnose and determine the nature and extent of repairs on multiple brands of equipment.
- Clean, lubricate and perform preventative and corrective maintenance of all systems (mechanical, electrical and hydraulic).
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure manufacturers' specifications are met.
- Read and follow electrical and hydraulic diagrams
- Follow the disassembly and assembly process from the manuals
- Order parts and maintain inventory
- Keep maintenance reports and other documentation
- Schedule work and coordinate with Shop Lead & other teammates.
- May perform light welding to repair equipment components
- May operate and test heavy equipment to diagnose issues and confirm that repairs meet manufacturers’ specifications
- May drive to and from the shop to pick up parts
- May instruct and supervise apprentices
