We're looking for one (1) Temporary Indigenous Wellness Navigator to join our Lighthouse program on a temporary contract until August 31, 2026. The Indigenous Wellness Navigator (IWN) supports children, youth, families, and staff by integrating Indigenous cultural knowledge and practices into services across Wood’s Homes programs. Guided by an Indigenous worldview and the concept of “culture as treatment” and “culture as intervention,” the IWN promotes healing and wellbeing through the four quadrants of the medicine wheel—physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. This role helps create meaningful opportunities for Indigenous clients to connect with culture, land, Elders, and community while supporting culturally responsive practices across programs. Key Responsibilities Facilitate culturally meaningful practices, teachings, and ceremonies for youth and families. Work with clinical teams to integrate cultural practices into care planning and programming. Support youth and families in connecting with community, cultural resources, and Elders. Promote cultural safety and awareness among staff and across programs. Coordinate cultural activities and support cultural teachings and presentations. Maintain documentation and participate in case planning, team meetings, and training. Qualifications Self-identifies as an Indigenous person in accordance with the Constitution of Canada. Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, teachings, and ceremonies. Ability to work respectfully with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and community partners. Diploma or degree in Social Work, Child and Youth Care, Social Sciences, or a related field with two (2) years of related experience, or equivalent cultural knowledge and experience. Current First Aid and CPR certification. Criminal Record Check and Intervention Record Check required upon hire. Working Conditions Travel within the community. Some evening and weekend work may be required. Work may occur in community, school, or program settings.
