Job Summary:
The Program Manager – Strategic Development is responsible for managing complex grant proposals while aligning strategic development initiatives with our broader organizational goals. This role demands exceptional project management skills to develop detailed timelines, set clear milestones, and ensure that multiple overlapping grant submissions meet both internal and external deadlines. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively across departments and with external partners, leveraging project management tools to track progress and ensure compliance with all requirements. In addition to grant proposal management, this position involves partnering with senior leadership to align fundraising efforts with organizational priorities, and fostering strong relationships with funders, community partners, and donors.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the end-to-end process of preparing and submitting multiple complex grant proposals concurrently.
- Develop detailed project timelines, set milestones, and monitor progress to ensure all grant submissions meet internal and external deadlines.
- Utilize project management tools to track deadlines, progress, and deliverables.
- Foster a collaborative team environment with clear communication and goals.
- Liaise with other organizational teams and external partners to gather necessary data, secure supporting documents, and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
- Track departmental performance metrics and prepare quarterly reports.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop strategic plans that integrate grant proposal schedules with broader organizational goals.
- Design and implement Development programs and initiatives that enhance fundraising efforts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with funders, community partners, and donors.
- Provide regular updates on grant proposal progress, including successes, challenges, and key timelines to internal and external stakeholders.
Attributes and Qualifications:
Equal consideration will be given to non-academic skills and experiences of candidates.
- Education or equivalent experience in Non-Profit Management, Business Administration, Social Work, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing programs or projects in the non-profit or a similar sector.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage timelines, and deliver results on complex projects.
- Fundraising, grant writing, or proposal development experience is a strong asset.
- Skilled in project management tools and approaches, with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Experience with budget tracking is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with funders, partners, donors, and staff.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Passionate about mission-driven work, and adaptable, proactive, and open to change.
