Job Description

The Director Sales NAM is responsible for meeting/exceeding the NAM sales team quarterly and annual revenue budget.  This position is responsible for leading, coaching and mentoring the Business Development (new logo acquisition) and Account Executive (upsell/ cross- sell) sales teams. Working closely with sales management and sales operations, this position will help define and implement sales processes, monitor and assess team and individual performance and instill accountability, urgency, and cooperation across the team.     

  • Manage the Business Development and Account Executive Sales teams.
  • Actively hire qualified team members as required and approved.
  • Accurately forecast on a bi-weekly and monthly basis to help sellers meet and exceed quota.
  • Work closely with senior sales management; translate plans and directives into clear activities.
  • Understand the hierarchy and culture of customer organizations and identify key decision makers and influencers.
  • Serve as a role model of company culture, embrace our values and ethic.
  • Assist in Strategic Planning and the development of annual Sales Plan with the VP and senior Business Line Managers to include sales targets/budgets, competitive activity/intelligence, sales efforts and promotion programs.
  • Manage sales administration function within the Division, operational performance reporting and sales incentive plans, approval of timecards, expense reports, etc.
  • Advise senior management on maximizing business relationships and creating an environment where customer service can flourish.
  • Collaborate with senior management and business development leaders to meet and introduce decision makers to SGS services, identify opportunities and negotiate sales contracts.
  • Enhance the sales team's capability to generate new opportunities by enabling flexible processes, supporting pipeline development, and boosting commercial/technical skills for improved decision-making and organizational goal alignment
  • Develop team members' customer management skills and performance levels through dedicated mentoring and regular one-on-one feedback and development sessions
  • Drive continuous sales improvement by proactively anticipating challenges, analyzing performance, developing improvement plans, and implementing innovative solutions
  • Build and maintain key relationships and networks across internal teams and with external stakeholders to maximize selling opportunities

Qualifications

  • Education: Undergraduate degree and industry experience
  • Experience: over 7 years of customer facing industry specific experience combined with people management experience
  • Experience in TIC industry, specifically Mining and Metals
  • Excellent presentation and selling skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills

  • Excellent experience in selling “solutions” and/or service type products within a business – to - business environment at a high level within organizations.

  • Must have a valid and up-to-date driver’s license and passport
