Position

TheΒ Addiction Therapist will play a key role in providing individual and group therapy to individuals experiencing substance use concerns, as well as their families and loved ones. This position focuses on delivering client-centered care while integrating best practices in harm reduction, trauma-informed approaches, and anti-oppressive frameworks.

Reporting to the Clinical Manager, this position collaborates closely with internal teams, community partners, and external referral sources. The Addiction Therapist will provide assessments, referrals, single-session, and brief solution-focused therapy through the Employee Assistance Program and Walk-In-Clinic programs. Additionally, this role contributes to community awareness initiatives, consultation with community colleagues, and the development of supportive resources.

This role is ideal for a compassionate and skilled bilingual clinician committed to providing inclusive, evidence-based addiction services in a dynamic, client-directed environment.


Essential Qualifications



  • BSW or BA/HBA in social sciences or MSW/MA
  • Eligibility for registration with a professional college that grants the designation to practice psychotherapy in Ontario;
  • Minimum two years addictions therapy experience including providing referral, case-management, and community treatment services;
  • Proven ability to utilize and interpret addiction assessment tools;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill with harm reduction, client-directed, feminist and anti-oppression principles and practice;
  • Proven understanding of concurrent disorders;
  • Demonstrated positive conflict resolution skills, in addition to evidence of ethical practice;
  • Demonstrated evidence of high degree of initiative & collaboration;
  • Understanding and work with people of Indigenous heritage and the proven ability to provide a culturally safe environment;
  • Highly developed team/community communication & collaboration strategies;
  • Valid driver’s license in the province of Ontario and use of a vehicle
