We welcome teachers who are student-centered and will have demonstrated:
· education and experience specific to elementary teaching in a multi-grade classroom,
· successful experience with Indigenous Curriculum,
· enhanced understanding of First Nations worldviews, cultural beliefs, language, and values,
· excellence in all competencies of the Alberta Education Teaching Quality Standard .
· excellent knowledge of the Programs of Study and learning outcomes of the Alberta Curriculum relevant to the position
· proficiency in principles and practice of differentiated teaching and learning and inclusive education
· excellent planning, teaching, and assessment skills,
· respect for Indigenous learning and learners as well as knowledge of the Tallcree Nation (preferred),
· effective teaching and learning environments and created innovative program opportunities to engage and challenge students and promote a sense of pride and accomplishment.
· instructional leadership that ensures the highest quality learning and teaching experiences.
· experience engaging students outside the classroom through land-based teaching and learning,
· commitment to being a team player committed to the belief that all students can learn and want to learn,
· the ability to establish meaningful and effective rapport with students,
· the ability to connect with students in trusting and supportive ways, clarify problems and challenges, and restore harmony and respect,
· the desire and ability to support students’ learning and personal goals and help to ensure their success.
· experience with Trauma-Informed Practice,
· ability to establish excellent relationships with parents, Elders, School Board, staff, and community members,
· a commitment to on-going professional growth,
· a willingness to support extra-curricular activities,
· The Teacher will be accountable for overseeing the day-to-day instruction of students and developing and maintaining effective educational classroom experiences to ensure the engagement, enjoyment, safety, and success of students. The teacher will show leadership, guidance, and collaboration in their relationship with the Educational Assistant, and oversee the schedule and activities of the EA .

Chief Tallcree Elementary School is a brand new, state of the art school located in South Tallcree, AB approximately a 47 min drive (76.0 km) via Bicentennial Hwy/AB-88 S. of Fort Vermilion, Alberta. It will have it’s Grand Opening in September 2021.
