TRO – Rotional Operations Attendant (Wekweètì)
Limited competition for Northwest Territories residents only.
Tłı̨chǫ Retail Operations (TRO) is 100% Indigenous owned by the Tłı̨chǫ Investment Corporation (TIC) and has 100% ownership of three retail stores and motels; also operating a petroleum, oil, lubricant (POL) division (community fuel delivery/gas station) in each of the Tłı̨chǫ communities of Whatì, Gamètì, and Wekweètì, NT.
We are currently recruiting for a permanent full-time Rotational Operations Attendant position located in the beautiful community of Wekweètì, NT. This position is a three-weeks in/three-weeks out rotational position working approximately 8-hour days. Flights are provided between Yellowknife and Wekweètì, and accommodation/meals are provided while on-rotation in Wekweètì.
Reporting to the Community Operations Manager, the Operations Attendant is responsible for providing services at the Wekweètì Store and Motel and willing to learn the ins/out of the retail operations.
Duties/Responsibilities
Store
- Learn the ins/outs of the store (office, cash register, freight, etc.)
- Price merchandise, stock shelves, and rotate stock
- Pull stock approaching best before date to put on sale
- Use the Point-of-Sale system to process customer purchases/returns and receive payments by cash, credit or debit
- Count and record daily cash outs
- Assist in training new employees
- Pick up/transport freight from airport when required
- Act as Supervisor in the absence of the Community Operations Manager (vacation, illness, etc.)
- Other duties as required
Motel
- General administrative duties including taking motel reservations, invoicing and processing payments.
- Assist in training new employees.
- Monitor and order food and supplies.
- Ensure food and other items are stored properly.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
- Act as Supervisor in the absence of the Community Operations Manager (vacation, illness, etc)
- Other duties as required.
Skills/Abilities:
- Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Good computer skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to follow direction and take initiative.
- Must be reliable/dependable/trustworthy
- Can learn quickly
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team as well as independently with limited supervision.
- Flexible/adaptable; willingness to embrace change.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to speak and understand the Tlicho language is a strong asset.
- Class 5 driver’s license required; Class 3/airbrakes considered a strong asset.
- Willingness to obtain AVOP certification
