The Conference Board of Canada (CBoC) is the nation’s largest independent applied research organization offering unbiased, evidence-based information and analysis to both industry, NGOs and federal/provincial governments. We have one of the country’s largest private economic analysis and forecasting teams and are widely recognized for expert economic forecasting, modeling, and leading analysis. CBoC undertakes research to address the most pressing issues in Innovation and Technology, Human Capital, Sustainability, Immigration, Indigenous and Northern Communities, Education and Skills, and Health. Our social science research provides actionable pathways to solutions. Simply put, we deliver insights that help Canada’s leaders cut through the noise and make informed decisions.
The Conference Board of Canada has a strong reputation for bringing executives and experts together to connect and learn in a dynamic, strategic, and confidential environment. The Conference Board’s executive councils provide high-touch, content-rich, relationship-based experiences that connect peers within different areas of subject matter expertise across a variety of Canadian industries and sectors.
Our Innovation and Technology area is seeking a Senior Council Manager to play a leadership role in the Council Innovation and Commercialization, the Council for Chief Information Officers and the Council for Chief Privacy Officers.
Our Ideal Candidate… will display credibility, leadership, and professionalism in all aspects of their role. They will have experience working in a professional customer-focused environment, be enthusiastic about delivering high-quality events and services, possess strong interpersonal and networking skills, and enjoy thinking outside of the box to discover and deliver new, impactful ways of adding value to the organization and its members.
The ability to successfully work within a membership-based business model where fostering, managing and building relationships, delivering on the councils’ value-propositions, and driving thought-leadership are key.
A strong understanding of Canada’s innovation ecosystem and emerging technologies—along with their impacts and opportunities—is highly desirable, as is a natural curiosity to stay informed and ahead of trends in this dynamic space.
We are a virtual organization and as a remote worker you must be comfortable and able to work 100 per cent of the time from a home office in Canada, with the exception of the requirement to travel to attend regular council meetings and events hosted by CBoC. To be successful as a remote worker you need to have a self-starter attitude, possess strong organizational and time management skills and be a proactive communicator. Having a home office environment that provides for a productive, professional, and safe work environment during regular working/business hours is a requirement of this role. This includes internet service and a reliable connection.
