As a Patient Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in empowering health care and social service organizations to achieve national and global standards through a People Centred Care approach. Your expertise will help transform care delivery, foster continuous improvement, and advance the health and safety of patients and communities.
Accreditation Canada is seeking those with lived experience as a patient or caregiver residing permanently in Canada and outside of Ontario to join our team of over 500 surveyors.
This role is ideal for those with experience as a Patient Partner/advisor on service design or quality improvement initiatives.
We invite applicants with experience in one or multiple of the following sectors: Acute Care, Health Systems, Long Term Care to apply.
As a patient surveyor, you will:
Time Commitment: Minimum of two surveys per year (approximately 10 days).
Support: Receive initial training, ongoing professional development, a modest honorarium, and full travel reimbursement as per expense policy. Earn continuing education credits from the First Nations Health Managers Association (FNHMA), Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL), Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), and the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
- Experience as a Patient Partner/ advisor in an organization accredited by Accreditation Canada and located within Canada and outside of Ontario.
- Experience in one or more of these areas: Acute Care, Health Systems, Long Term Care.
- Significant and recent experience accessing and using health and/or social services within Canada.
- Experience working with patients, clinicians, administrators, or governance teams on service design or quality improvement initiatives and a strong commitment to improving care quality.
- Proficiency in English (writing and communication) and technology.
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills with a positive, adaptable attitude.
- Knowledge of Accreditation Canada programs and accreditation processes.
